PXG made four Lightning drivers, and the Tour sits at the low-spin end of the group. It feels terrific, tunes easily and goes a long way when you find the middle. The price is the highest in the class.
What's new
The Tour is a 460 cc head with a titanium Frequency Tuned Face and a thin carbon fiber crown. PXG puts two 7.5 gram weights in the front ports and a 2.5 gram weight at the back, which pulls spin down and keeps launch low.
Lofts come in 8, 9 and 10.5 degrees for right-handers, and lefties get 9 only. An adjustable hosel tweaks the loft from there. It costs more than anything else in this year's driver field, so you are paying flagship money and then some.
How it plays
Feel scores 8.9, its best mark, and testers kept describing a hot face. Distance comes in at 8.6, and workability at 8.8 tells you a good player can move the ball both ways without fighting the head.
Accuracy holds at 8.4, and the weight ports give you a way to chase it further. One tester's fitter slid weight toward the heel to cure a slight fade, a fix the three-port layout makes simple.
Where it lacks
Forgiveness rates 7.5, and in a big independent driver test the Tour ranked 16th or 17th overall. Of the four Lightning heads it has the deepest face, and it rewards a good strike far more than it forgives a poor one.
Value scores 6.9 because of the price. You can buy a lot of driver for less, and the Tour only pays you back if your swing speed and strike match what it was built for.
“Lovely to hit and easy to tune, but only fast, consistent swingers will get their money's worth.”- The Club Stand gear team
Reasons to buy
- Launches and spins lower than any other driver in the Lightning family
- Three ports take weights from 2.5 to 20 grams, so a fitter can shift the ball flight
- An 8 degree loft option suits players with real clubhead speed
Reasons to think twice
- No driver in the 2026 class costs more
- Forgiveness landed mid-table in testing, behind its distance and feel
- A deep face asks for a centered strike and punishes the loose ones
