TaylorMade built the women's Qi10 Max fairway wood around one goal. Shots should stay in play when the strike is off. It launches high, forgives a lot, and gives back a little distance in exchange.

What's new

This is the women's version of the Qi10 Max, sold as a 3-wood at 16 degrees with a 200cc head. TaylorMade carries over the driver's 10,000 MOI rating, a measure of how hard the head resists twisting when you miss the center.

An Infinity Carbon Crown sits on top, and the face uses Twist Face with a Thru-Slot Speed Pocket, a slot in the sole meant to help shots struck low on the face. Stock build pairs a Fujikura Speeder NX TCS 40 ladies shaft at 42 inches with an undersize Lamkin ST Soft grip. It currently sells below its launch list.

How it plays

Forgiveness carries this club. It scores 9.4 there, its best mark by far. Heel and toe strikes still fly close to the target line, and the high launch lifts the ball cleanly off short grass or out of light rough.

Accuracy and distance land mid-pack, at 7.9 and 7.8. Mid-low spin stops the high flight from floating away, but this head was designed to get airborne easily, not to chase extra yards. A value score of 8.1 reflects that sale pricing.

Where it lacks

Feel scores 7.7. A softer response tells you less about where you struck it than a smaller, faster wood would, and players who learn from that feedback will notice.

Workability trails everything else at 6.3, which only matters if you like to shape shots. Loft deserves a closer look. With 16 degrees as the listed option, slower swings can see it carry close to their 5-iron, leaving a gap a higher-lofted wood might fill better.

“A forgiving, high-flying 3-wood for golfers tired of dreading theirs. Check the loft against your 5-iron first.”
- The Club Stand gear team

Reasons to buy

  • Off-center strikes keep a reasonable line, backed by a 9.4 forgiveness score
  • High launch helps moderate swing speeds get the 16 degree head airborne from a tight lie or light rough
  • Stock ladies Fujikura shaft and undersize Lamkin grip are built for women's swings rather than adapted from a men's club

Reasons to think twice

  • Distance scores 7.8 because the head is tuned for launch and forgiveness over raw carry
  • Workability sits at 6.3, so anyone who likes to curve shots on purpose will find it resists
  • Slower swings may find the 16 degree loft carries close to their 5-iron
