TaylorMade built the Qi10 Max to resist twisting on poor strikes, and this women's version pairs that head with lighter parts. Distance is solid rather than standout. Its real gain is more drives that stay in play.

What's new

TaylorMade rates the 460cc head at 10,000 g-cm2 of MOI, the highest figure the USGA allows. MOI measures how hard a head is to twist when you miss the center. Lofts come in 10.5 or 12 degrees, and an adjustable hosel moves either one two degrees up or down.

Carbon makes up 97 percent of the crown, and a 60-layer carbon fiber Twist Face sits up front. For women, TaylorMade fits a Fujikura Speeder NX TCS 40 ladies shaft and a Lamkin ST Soft undersize grip. It launched in early 2024 at flagship money and now sells for noticeably less.

How it plays

Forgiveness carries this club, and it scores 9.5 there. One robot comparison found the Max head lost about 1.7 fewer yards per mishit than the standard Qi10. Accuracy follows at 8.1, since a head that twists less sends fewer drives sideways.

Swing speed shapes how much you get from it. Testing named it the best value among current forgiving drivers for swings between 85 and 95 mph. Plenty of women swing slower than that, and the light shaft and soft undersize grip exist to keep the club easy for them to move. Distance scores a respectable 8.

Where it lacks

Do not buy it to work the ball. Workability scores 6.5, the lowest of its six marks, because a head this stable fights every attempt to draw or fade a drive on purpose.

Feel gives up ground too, at 7.8, with strikes that come off duller than from a speed-focused head. Value lands at 7.7, since the money goes into forgiveness rather than raw distance. Nobody has robot-tested the women's build by itself, so those numbers rest on the shared head.

“A sensible driver for women who lose too many tee shots to the trees. Expect straighter misses, not extra yards.”
- The Club Stand gear team

Reasons to buy

  • Head stability sits at the limit the rules allow, so heel and toe misses lose little ground
  • A light ladies shaft and undersize grip make the club easy to swing at moderate speeds
  • Carbon covers almost the whole crown, giving a clean, simple view at address

Reasons to think twice

  • Shaping shots on purpose is close to impossible, since the head resists any attempt to curve the ball
  • Strikes feel softer and less lively than they do from a speed-focused driver head
  • This women's build was never robot-tested on its own, so its scores lean on the shared head
