Few hybrids this year send the ball farther than the Qi4D Rescue. Its trouble comes on the way down, when shots land across a wider patch of ground than any rival in the test.
What's new
TaylorMade splits its 2026 Qi4D hybrids in two, and this Rescue is the smaller, more workable head, while the Max Rescue handles the forgiving end. A 450 stainless steel body wears an ultralight carbon fiber crown, and a Twist Face with a Speed Pocket sits up front.
Lofts run 17, 19, 22 and 25 degrees (2H through 5H), and an 8 g TAS weight plus a 3-degree sleeve let a fitter move loft, lie and face angle. Stock graphite comes from the REAX line built with KBS, and a 7.8 value score marks the price as fair rather than cheap.
How it plays
Speed carries this club. Test shots averaged 115.11 mph of ball speed and 184.86 yards of total distance, second-longest in the field, and that earns a 9.4 for distance.
Workability scores 8.4 and feel 8.3, which fits what testers found: the standard head shapes shots more willingly than the Max, and both versions come off the face fast. Anyone who likes to curve a long iron replacement will get along with it.
Where it lacks
Accuracy finished last in its class at 7.4. Shot patterns spread across 2439 square yards, the worst dispersion recorded for a 2026 hybrid, and that spread dragged the club to last of eight in the overall standings despite its distance.
Forgiveness also stops at 7.4. Mishits do not hold their line the way they do in the Max Rescue, so a player who needs help on thin strikes should start there and leave this head to fitted, steadier ball strikers.
“I love how far it goes. I just wish I knew where it was going to land.”- The Club Stand gear team
Reasons to buy
- Second-longest total distance in its class at 184.86 yards, on 115.11 mph of ball speed
- Compact head works the ball both ways more readily than the forgiving Max Rescue
- An 8 g TAS weight and a 3-degree sleeve give a fitter real room to adjust loft, lie and face angle
Reasons to think twice
- Accuracy scored 7.4, last in its class
- Dispersion covered 2439 square yards, the widest of any 2026 hybrid tested
- Forgiveness sits at 7.4, so off-center strikes cost more than they do with the Max version
