Vice sells golf balls first, yet its VGD01+ produced the fastest ball speed of 42 drivers in a 2026 test. It costs well below flagship money. There is one catch: a draw bias you cannot weight out.

What's new

The VGD01+ arrived in April 2025 with an 0811 titanium body, a forged carbon crown and a milled face Vice calls LASER GRID. Aluminum fins on the sole act as discretionary weight, while a single heel weight sets the head up to draw.

Adjustment stops at the hosel, which gives 4 degrees of range in total, and there are no movable weights to reshape the flight. Vice lists it at 10.5 degrees for right-handers and prices it well under the big-brand flagships.

How it plays

Speed comes first with this one. In a 2026 test of 42 drivers it produced 142.89 mph of ball speed, fastest in the group and ahead of Titleist's GT3, which explains a distance score of 8.7.

Over four rounds, spin stayed in the low 2,000s with solid carry and plenty of roll-out. Feel scores 8.9, and impact has a deep, premium quality that rivals heads costing far more, while accuracy holds up at 8.1.

Where it lacks

That heel weight pulls the ball left, and testers saw their misses go that way. With no movable weights, a straighter hitter has only the hosel to fight the bias, and workability sits at 7.4, its lowest score.

Some testers also saw launch come in lower than advertised, which matters more when the listed loft is 10.5 degrees. Forgiveness rates 8.0: good, but not best in class once strikes wander toward the edges of the face.

“Fastest face in the test for well under flagship money. Just be ready for the left miss.”

Reasons to buy

  • Topped a 42-driver test with 142.89 mph of ball speed, quicker off the face than the Titleist GT3
  • Impact feels deep and premium, on par with the big-brand heads it was tested against
  • Priced well below most flagships, which lifts its value score of 8.9 near the top of the class

Reasons to think twice

  • A single heel weight builds in a real draw bias, so straighter hitters have to work against it
  • Launch came in lower than advertised for some testers, and only a 10.5 degree right-handed head is listed
  • Forgiveness rates 8.0, solid but short of class-leading when strikes drift toward the edges
