Wilson built the DYNAPWR Max for golfers whose drives leak right. It launches easily, leans toward a draw, and scores well across the board, though the carbon crown and 10K MOI head cost extra in the Max+.

What's new

The DYNAPWR Max arrived in February 2025 as a draw-biased driver sitting a step below the Max+ in Wilson's lineup. Lofts come in 9, 10.5 and 12 degrees, and Wilson finishes every head with a Lamkin Crossline 360 grip.

Two stock shafts cost the same: a UST Mamiya LIN-Q M40 Red in 5 or 6 flex, or a Helium NCT 4. Wilson has also trimmed the list since launch, which pulls it further under typical flagship money.

How it plays

A 2026 driver test put it at 8.5 overall, with 8.6 for distance and 8.8 for forgiveness. Those are strong figures for a driver priced below most brand flagships, and our own 8.7 forgiveness score lands close to that test's result.

Accuracy sits a little lower at 8.2, but the draw bias does useful work for players who fade it, pulling the start line back toward the middle. Feel rates an 8.4, and another reviewer gave it the top forgiveness rating in the DYNAPWR family.

Where it lacks

You cannot tune it. With no sole weighting, a player whose miss changes over a season has nothing to adjust beyond loft and shaft, and workability trails the rest of the scorecard at 8.1.

Wilson keeps its carbon crown and 10K MOI construction for the Max+, and higher handicappers may find this head spins more than that model. A slow swinger chasing every yard should hit both before deciding.

“If your drives drift right, this fixes a lot of it without asking for top-shelf money.”

Reasons to buy

  • Draw bias and low spin help players who fight a fade start the ball straighter
  • Two UST Mamiya stock shafts, the LIN-Q M40 Red and Helium NCT 4, at no upcharge
  • Launches easily, so getting the ball airborne takes little effort

Reasons to think twice

  • No sole weights, so the draw bias you buy is the draw bias you keep
  • Higher handicappers may see more spin than they would from the Max+
  • Wilson saves its carbon crown and 10K MOI for the pricier Max+
