Fourteen built its TB-3 FORGED as a super game-improvement iron and forged it in one piece from soft steel anyway. It placed third overall in a 2026 test of the category, and nothing on the scorecard drops below 7.8.

What's new

The TB-3 FORGED arrived in June 2026 with a one-piece S20C soft steel head, a back design Fourteen calls the Theatre Blade, and a nickel chrome satin finish. Every set is made in Japan.

A base set runs #7 through PW, and you can add a #5, a #6 or a P/A. The 7-iron has 34 degrees of loft, measures 37.25 inches and weighs 407 grams with the FS-90i R shaft. Stock options are FS-90i steel in R or S and the FT-70i, and Fourteen's US store also offers an NS Pro 950 Neo.

How it plays

Distance and accuracy both score 9, and forgiveness sits right behind at 8.8. Super game-improvement irons usually give up some control to buy that ball speed and help on mishits, but this one keeps its accuracy number level with its distance.

Feel scores 8.8, which follows from forging the whole head in soft steel instead of assembling it from parts. Independent testing placed it third overall among 2026 super game-improvement irons and gave it a 9 in the full review.

Where it lacks

Value scores 7.8, the lowest mark it gets. Premium set money covers four clubs, and building out to a #5 or adding a P/A costs more.

Workability scores 8.5, respectable but behind everything else on the card, and anyone who likes to curve the ball on purpose will notice. Supply was tight at launch too: one US retailer listed it backordered, and the official store quoted shipping 14 days after an order.

“Forged soft steel and a 9 for accuracy in a super game-improvement head. I did not expect that combination.”

Reasons to buy

  • Distance and accuracy both score 9, and it placed third overall in a 2026 super game-improvement test
  • One-piece forged S20C soft steel gives it a feel score of 8.8, high for this category
  • Made in Japan with a nickel chrome satin finish and a choice of FS-90i or FT-70i shafts

Reasons to think twice

  • Premium money buys only four irons, #7 to PW, and the #5, #6 and P/A cost extra
  • Launch stock ran thin, with retailers listing it backordered and shipping roughly 14 days after an order
  • Workability trails its other scores at 8.5, so shot shapers get less from it than straight hitters
