Haywood forges the SV.2 in Canada and still sells the set for mid-range money. It earns its place by punishing misses so little: in testing, only one game-improvement iron proved more forgiving.
What's new
The SV.2 arrived in March 2026 as a seven-piece game-improvement set running from the 4-iron to an approach wedge. Lofts span 19 to 48 degrees, with the 7-iron at 29.5.
Under a fog silver finish sits a forged 431 stainless body, a new S450 face, and 18 g of injected foam. Offset shrinks progressively through the set, and Haywood offers its own Tour and Tour Lite shafts as stock. For a forged set made in Canada, the price lands squarely in the middle tier.
How it plays
Forgiveness carries this iron. It scores 9.1 there, and a 2026 test of game-improvement irons placed it second in the class on that measure, with consistency across the face named as its headline trait.
Accuracy scores 8.9 and feel scores 8.8, and the SV.2 finished in the top seven of that same test with an 8.8 overall. Workability comes in at 8.5, respectable for a set built around keeping mishits on line.
Where it lacks
Distance is the soft spot. At 8.3 it is the lowest of the six scores, so anyone buying game-improvement irons purely for extra yards will find longer options.
The set starts at a 4-iron, a demanding ask for a high handicapper's long game, and the fog silver finish divides opinion: players who prefer a brighter or darker look may pass on it for that alone.
“Miss the center and it hardly flinches, and it is forged and built in Canada at mid-range money.”- The Club Stand gear team
Reasons to buy
- Forgiveness scores 9.1, and testing ranked it second in its class for holding up on off-center strikes
- Feel scores 8.8, with 18 g of injected foam softening a forged 431 stainless body
- Seven forged irons built in Canada for mid-range money, which earns an 8.5 for value
Reasons to think twice
- Distance is its lowest mark at 8.3
- A 4-iron start is a demanding ask for a high handicapper's long game
- Fog silver is a matter of taste, and some players will not warm to it
