PXG kept the tour look on the 0311 T and rebuilt what sits behind the face. The GEN8 adds a thinner maraging face, a polymer core that fills the head, and 17 percent more MOI than the iron it replaces.

What's new

The body is 5x forged 8620 carbon steel, and the HT1770 maraging steel face thins to 0.062 inch at its thinnest point. QuantumCOR polymer fills the head behind it, across its full depth and width.

PXG's Dual Perimeter Weighting gives a fitter a range of 1 to 12 grams to play with, pairing tungsten with a 360-degree perimeter. Lofts are strong, with a 32 degree 7-iron, and each club sells on its own at a price near the top of the players iron market.

How it plays

Forgiveness scores 9.2, a high mark for a head this compact, while accuracy and workability both land at 9.1. One test panel gave it full marks and found the best launch and spin of any iron in PXG's GEN8 set; another came away surprised that a tour iron could be this quick.

Distance rates a 9, backed by measured ball speed gains over the GEN7. Feel trails slightly at 8.5, though testers describe a softer, faster face that still lets a good player shape shots.

Where it lacks

Value drags the scorecard down to 7.7. PXG prices the T one club at a time at the expensive end of the category, so a full set adds up quickly, and one 2026 panel rated it a more measured 4.0 out of 5.

The head stays compact and wants clean contact, with strikes off the toe getting less help. Weighting cuts both ways too: a 1 to 12 gram range gives a fitter plenty to tune, but buying without a fitting means guessing.

“It still looks like a tour iron at address, but it gives far more help than the last one.”
- The Club Stand gear team

Reasons to buy

  • Stability climbs with 17 percent more MOI than the GEN7, the largest jump the 0311 line has made
  • Looks like a tour iron at address yet launches fast, helped by a 32 degree 7-iron
  • Full marks from one 2026 panel, with accuracy and workability both scoring 9.1

Reasons to think twice

  • A compact tour head that rewards clean contact and asks more of you off the toe
  • Sold by the club at a price near the top of the players iron market
  • Setting the 1-12 gram weighting for your swing really calls for a fitting
