Stix built the P02 Perform for golfers who want forged irons without flagship money. It is forgiving and fairly priced, but it is also short, and one large test ranked it last in its field.

What's new

The P02 Perform launched in February 2026 as a six-club set running from 5-iron to pitching wedge. Each head is forged from 17-4 stainless steel around a deep game-improvement cavity, finished in matte black with a small red alignment accent at the base of the face.

Steel shafts come standard, and full sets add a graphite option. The six-piece set sits in the value tier, and Stix also sells a 12-club bundle for anyone who wants the whole bag in one order.

How it plays

Forgiveness carries this set. It rates 8.5 here, and a 23-model game-improvement test scored it 8.9 for forgiveness and 8.4 for accuracy, so mishits hold their line better than the price suggests.

Distance tells a messier story. Our score is 6.6, and that same test recorded the lowest ball speed (97.7 mph) and shortest carry (131.8 yards) of its 2026 models, yet one on-course review found it within about 2 yards of PXG XP irons and noted a dialed-back draw bias.

Where it lacks

Yardage is the sticking point. Finishing at the bottom of a 23-model field with the slowest ball speed among the new irons will put off anyone chasing carry, even if real play narrows the gap.

Sound lets the short irons down: the 9-iron and pitching wedge ring hollow and pingy, which undercuts the forged feel. Workability sits at 7.1, and limited in-store availability means few buyers will get to try a set before ordering.

“Forgiving, soft and fairly priced. You give up a few yards, and the short irons ping.”

Reasons to buy

  • Forgiveness rates 8.5, and a deep cavity keeps off-center strikes playable
  • Forged 17-4 stainless steel feels soft for the money
  • Value scores 8.5, a strong buy for beginners through mid handicappers

Reasons to think twice

  • Slowest ball speed and shortest carry among the 2026 models in a major game-improvement test
  • The 9-iron and pitching wedge give off a hollow, pingy sound
  • Stix is a niche brand, so hitting a set in a store first is hard
